How to Enter Daily QCs

This article covers how to complete a daily QC using image-based QC. You will be prompted to complete a QC with a yellow banner on the room card.

You will be prompted at least once per day. If you would like to customize the timing of QC prompting, reach out to your Account Manager.

Strella recommends pulling bananas from a middle pallet halfway into the room. Select a banana box from the second or third row down from the top of the pallet and remove multiple banana hands or fingers. Bananas in the middle of the room and pallet should more closely reflect the majority of ripening results in the zone due to similar environmental conditions.

It's useful to have a cart available directly outside the room with tools used to evaluate bananas and take photos using consistent lighting and backdrop.

Note for plantains: Strella does not yet predict stages for plantains. After step 2, there will be no predicted stage. Just select the stage of the plantain and submit.

You will be prompted to open the camera or select from your camera roll. If you have already taken a photo, select the camera roll option and select the image you want to use.

If you have not yet taken a photo of the bananas, select the camera option and take a photo. Then, tap Use Photo in the bottom right. See this article for what makes a good photo.

Strella will suggest a stage based on the image provided. If needed, you can adjust the stage using the slider.
