Banana Photos

Images are one of the many inputs that Strella uses to evaluate banana stage progression during ripening. Images alone are not a reliable indicator of overall banana stage, however, they are usually accurate for color stage determination after the ripening process.

1. Ethylene gas application is complete (stage must be 2.0 or greater)

2. All fingers must be similar in color (+- 0.50 color stage)

3. Some of the fingers are showing their side/shoulder or are face up with stickers facing the camera

4. Plain background of any color without extraneous objects visible

5. Bright and even lighting with minimal shadows

1. Color calibration card approved by Strella

2. Apple iPad approved by Strella

3. Some fingers are showing their shoulders near the stem end
