How to Manage Multiple Ship Dates and Stage Goals
Best results can be expected with a single Target Date and single Stage Goal per room zone. However, the Ripen app supports multiple Target Dates and Stage Goals per room zone, within the ranges of industry best practice.
This page describes best practices for managing Target Dates and Stage Goals for carryover fruit and split color programs.
How to Select a Target Date for Multiple Shipment Dates
Enter the first planned shipment date as the original target target date.
Update the target date after the first shipment has been recorded.
Repeat the process if there are subsequent shipments (e.g. carryover).
Option to include a cycle note to include under the category, "fruit will ship over multiple days," to add context around your shipment plan.
When to Change the Stage Goal
Only change the stage goal if color progression is intended.
Remember that fruit will naturally continue to ripen after the original target date is reached. A color progression of approximately 0.25 stages per day should be expected, even once holding temperatures are reached.
This typically only applies to facilities who are following a split color program.
